SuperSport, premium sports content provider on DStv, on Saturday, thrilled hundreds of DStv subscribers at the Havillah House of Events, Victoria Island, Lagos. They were there for the live screening of three English Premier League matches to usher in the new football season.
Guests at the venue were made to experience live studio broadcast, asSuperSport temporarily relocated its HD Studios to Victoria Island, Lagos.SuperSport analysts/presenters, Charles Anazodo, Colin Udoh and ex-international Victor Ikpeba were joined by Champions League winning ex-coach of Chelsea, Roberto Di Matteo, on set. He was in the country courtesy of Guinness, which partnered with MultiChoice Nigeria/SuperSport.
Football fans have described the month of August as a special season. All over the world, it is a time of the year when majority of the leading football leagues resume action after a three-month break. August 2013 is not in any way different from the previous, only that this year, the month comes as a unique one given the changes that have taken place between the end of last season in May and the one that is just starting.
Martin Mabutho, General Manager, Sales and Marketing, MultiChoice Nigeria, thanked the guests at the centre. He said that the live screening of the EPL matches was commemorative.
He said, “SuperSport is more than EPL; it is the home of premium sports from football to tennis, golf, athletics, cycling, basketball and all.”
