The robbers fled after they were confronted by police on Wednesday.
The Ogun state police said it has recovered the corpses of two out of three armed robbers who fled a robbery scene in Odogbolu local government on Wednesday.
The robbers were confronted by the police along Omu/Epe road before some of them escaped into the bush.
The state police spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, told PREMIUM TIMES that policemen who went in search of the fleeing robbers with some members of the Vigilante Service of Ogun State recovered the corpses in a nearby bush on Thursday, a day after the attack.
He said the bodies have been deposited at a mortuary in Ijebu Ode.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, after a police unit responded to a distress call from some road users.
An anti-crime patrol team attached to Odogbolu Division of the Ogun State police command, led by Eludini Akinola, engaged the attackers in a gun duel at about 2pm.
Two of the raiders were killed by the police while the rest escaped with bullet wounds.
Police said it recovered one AK 47 rifle with 19 rounds of ammunition, 2 locally made pistols, live cartridges and charms.
