LASG to restrict turning on Mobolaji Bank Anthony

AUGUST 1, 2013

Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Kayode Opeifa
Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Kayode Opeifa, has called for cooperation from stakeholders and residents of the Government Reserved Area, Ikeja, as the state government begins the enforcement of no left turn restriction on Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, Ikeja on Saturday.
He explained that the action was to resolve gridlock at the Country Club inter-section, which usually spilled over to Sheraton Hotel and Ola Ayinde Street, by Nigeria Customs  Services office, Ikeja.
“From Saturday, motorists will be restricted from making left turn from Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way into Joel Ogunnaike as well as left turn from Mobolaji Bank Anthony into Ola Ayinde,” he said.
Opeifa added that motorists inbound Maryland would be made to proceed to the loop directly opposite Sheraton Hotel before making a U-turn, while motorists inbound GRA, Ikeja would now be allowed to make a U-turn before the newly expanded return loop, in front of the Police Anti-Bomb junction along Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way.
The commissioner, who said the new approach had caused an improvement, however said, the state government would not hesitate to change it if it began to face any hiccups.
He said, “From what I have seen from the experiment so far, the system is working. But we will not hesitate to change it if there is any problem with it in the future. We are here to serve the people.”
