There is currently tension in the Agge Community of Ekeremor local government area of Bayelsa State over the warning issued by youths to shut down the oil exploration site of the OPL 227 along the Ramos Rivers area of the state.
The warning is coming few days after the authorities of the Joint Military Task Force code named Operation Pulo Shield issued a security alert on the oil exploration site known as OPL 227.
The OPL 227 was awarded to the Petroleum Corporation, Addax Petroleum, Express Petroleum, Gas Company Limited and Petroleum Prospects International Limited by the federal government.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the warning against the continued oil exploration activity was issued by the aggrieved youths of the Kou Clan over the perceived anomaly over slots allocated to communities for employment by the oil exploration companies.
Sources informed LEADERSHIP that the aggrieved youths made up of seven communities of Amazor, Osumabio, Azamabiri, Orobiri, Agge Town Bush and Ogbeite,are angered that the employment initiative was allowed to include non-host communities of the OPL 227.
