How Edo poll was rigged – PDP

Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole
The Peoples Democratic Party has accused the Edo State governor, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole, of spearheading an alleged rigging of the local government polls in the state.
The National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Chief Olisah Metuh, alleged in a press conference on Sunday, that the governor rigged the polls through the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission.
The PDP National Publicity Secretary alleged further that Oshiomhole plotted to rig the elections even before the day of the election by constituting a state electoral commission that was allegedly dominated by card carrying members of the ACN.
He also queried the use of a bus reportedly belonging to the Deputy governor of Edo State, Dr. Pius Odubu, to carry electoral materials and personnel to polling centres, allegedly shown in a video clip during the conference.
Metuh said the PDP would ensure that the results of the local government polls were challenged in court.
He lamented that the opposition, who had always cried for credible election, had not done well in the conduct of elections in states under their control.
He insisted that the PDP, which had ensured the conduct of free and fair elections at the federal level, would not accept the rigging and subversion of the will of the people as was alleged to be the case in Edo.
