Ondo State Council of Traditional Rulers has suspended the Olusupare of Supare in the Akoko South West Local Government Area, Oba Kasali Adejoro, following a rape allegation levelled against him.
The monarchs said Adejoro would not be re-admited to the council until “the dispensation of the case at the courts of law.”
Adejoro was last year, dragged before the Supare Magistrates’Court by one of his subjects, Mrs. Comfort Awogbamila, over the allegation.
The monarch had however through his counsel, Mr. Bayo Olorunmeke, gone to a High Court to challenge the allegation.
But a letter by the Chairman of the Council of Obas and Deji of Akure, Adebiyi Adesida, asked Adejoro to stay away from the council’s activities.
The letter read, “The attention of the Ondo State Council of Traditional Rulers has been drawn to the recent allegation against your good self and the on-going prosecution at both magistrate and high courts.
“Following the on-going criminal proceeding before the courts, you are advised to stay away from the activities and meetings of the council of Traditional Rulers until the criminal case is resolved in one way or the other.”
