Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has quizzed officials of Coscharis Motors Limited, the supplier of the BMW bulletproof cars scandal rocking the aviation sector.
It was gathered that the officials who are expected to return to the commission today (Wednesday) were interrogated on Monday and Tuesday.
The identity of what the source called “top officials” of the company could however not be confirmed.
The source said, “It is true top officials of Coscharis Motors Limited were interrogated. They were quizzed on Monday and Tuesday. More people came today (Tuesday). They are expected to come back tomorrow (Wednesday).
“The investigation is in top gear already. The picture is getting clearer.”
The anti-graft agency on Tuesday maintained sealed lips on inquiry made over the interrogation.
Efforts to get official confirmation from the EFCC failed.
The EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, refused to pick repeated calls placed to his phone.
He also did not reply to a text message from our correspondent on the issue.
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority reportedly had bought the two bulletproof cars for the Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah.
This has drawn widespread criticisms across the country.
Oduah on Thursday denied that the NCAA bought the two bulletproof cars for her use.
She stated that the agency bought the cars for its own operations in line with the rising profile of Nigeria as an ICAO member.
