I contemplated suicide after breakup with Linda –Hulk Hogan

Hulk Hogan
Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan said he “hit rock bottom” and contemplated suicide after his marriage broke up, reality show was cancelled and his son faced jail time.
The 60-year-old former professional wrestler opened up about the dark time in his life on the Oprah Winfrey Network show Where Are They Now? during an episode broadcast on Sunday.
The Hulkmania hero, whose real name is Terry Bollea, said his life started to fall apart after cancellation of his reality show Hogan Knows Best, which also starred his former wife Linda.
“After the show I hit rock bottom. Everything got dark, everything happened at once,” Hogan said.
“I was drinking alcohol very heavily. It just all kept piling up, it all kept mounting and mounting I didn’t know how to handle it.
“I always wondered how could someone possibly take their own life, and so I got to that point where I said, ‘You know what, maybe this would be easy. You know, maybe this would be an easy way to fix things.’’’
Hogan, shown in 1990 during the height of Hulkmania, said a fan helped him change his outlook
Hogan about the same time was coping with the jailing of his 23-year-old son Nick who lost control of his sports car in August 2007.
Nick pleaded no contest to reckless driving in the incident that severely injured his passenger and best friend John Graziano.
The two-time Royal Rumble champion also said his marriage to Linda was ‘crashing and burning.’
Linda filed for divorce in November 2007. The former couple also share 25-year-old daughter Brooke together.
Hogan revealed his suicidal thoughts on own show
Hogan said a New Year’s Eve incident in Miami finally helped him get past the dark days.
After fleeing a dinner table due to its negativity, Hogan said ‘some kid ran up and hugged me and was like, ‘’Oh I grew up watching you. I didn’t have a dad, you’re like a dad to me.’’ And there was another person that said ‘’Hey Hulk, we love you.”
