2 Senators Tussle in Edo over Constituency Projects

 

Two APC National Assembly lawmakers from Edo North, Alhaji Abubakar Momoh representing Etsako Federal and Dr Obende Domingo, the senator representing Edo North, are at daggers drawn with each other over constituency projects in the zone as they try to outdo each other in their bid for the 2015 senatorial seat.
The lawmakers are both claiming to have attracted  the projects located in Auchi, Fugar and Agenebode, in Etsako West, Etsako Central and Etsako East Local Government Areas of Edo , though as it seens, they had no input in their being located in the state.
The Senator had first accused Momoh of laying claims to attracting the projects arguing that he actually influenced their inclusion in the 2012 federal budget to the areas as part of his constituency projects in 2012.
Domingo said the projects were meant to better the lots of the people and also enhance his re-election bid in 2015.
However, Momoh pooh poohed the Senator’s claims and challenged him  to provide evidence that the projects were his, noting however that if Domingo feels his political ambition would be enhanced by the projects, he would concede the projects to him.
Momoh alleged that the Senator’s false claim was an attempt to deceive the people into believing he was working whereas he has been sleeping in the Senate.
“You can see for yourselves that these projects are primary healthcare and not comprehensive health care facility that the senator is laying claim to.
"I ordinarily would not have reacted to Domingo’s claim of these projects but the need to clear myself of the allegation.”
