Amaechi’s election, victory for democracy — Tsav

Former Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav
A retired Commissioner of Police, Abubakar Tsav, has described the outcome of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum elections which Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, won as a victory for democracy and a sign that Nigeria was no longer for sale.
He said this in a text message sent toSUNDAY PUNCH, in Abuja, on Saturday.
Tsav noted that the conduct of the elections and the resolute stand taken by members of the body was a clear indication that democracy was beginning to take root in Nigeria.
He said, “I warmly congratulate Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State on his re-election as chairman of Governors’ Forum, regardless of the rent-a-crowd and stage managed demonstration against him in Port Harcourt — believed to be sponsored by the Presidency.” commend and hail all governors who re-elected him. Democracy is taking root in Nigeria and it is a demonstration that Nigeria is no longer for sale.
“Early rain is an indication that the farmer will have good yield from his farm. Goodluck Jonathan attained the Presidency on a platter of gold.
“He has over stretched his good luck and now wants to try God by being high-handed, vindictive and engaging people like Asari-Dokubo to threaten the nation.
“We wait to see what Asari-Dokubo will do to Rotimi Amaechi and also wait to see if GEJ drives better or is richer and more powerful than God who made him President.”
He added that the governors should remain steadfast in their decision to elect Amaechi as the NGF Chairman.
