Keshi confident about Eagles ahead of Mexico clash

Stephen Keshi
Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, is confident and calm ahead of the team’s last training session before the encounter with CONCACAF champions, Mexico in Houston, the United States.
The former Eagles captain, who expressed joy that the game will be televised live in Nigeria, said there were no injury worries in the team as he promised that the players would not have any reason to falter against the Mexicans.
“We will do our best and ensure that we come clean against Mexico. As usual, we want Nigerians to pray for us. On our part we will defend the national colours well against any opposition and Mexico are just one of them,” Keshi said.
Camp sources also revealed that Ukraine-based forward Brown Ideye and Germany-based Joseph Akpala, are likely to lead the strike force to start against the Mexicans as the duo have shown maturity during training sessions.
Midfielder John Ogu is also said to be pulling his weight and is tipped to be in the starting line-up against the Mexicans.
“I don’t know who will start and who will not but we have a team that should do very well against Mexico”, Keshi said on Thursday. The match is scheduled for 8pm Houston time and 2am Nigeria time on Saturday.
