Gov.'s Wife Distributes N4m To 40 Widows In Maiduguri
Hajiya Nana Shettima, wife of Borno Governor, on Tuesday distributed N4 million to 40 widows who lost their husbands during the Boko Haram crisis in the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that each of the beneficiaries was given N100,000 cash at a ceremony held in Maiduguri.
Shettima said the gesture was aimed at assisting the victims who had lost their bread winners during the crisis.
She explained that the money was to enable them to start their own businesses so that they could become self-reliant.
She said the women were carefully selected among the victims of the crisis for a wide coverage.
Shettima urged them to use the money judiciously by investing it in profitable ventures.(NAN)
