Hull City manager Steve Bruce says Sone Aluko has been made a ‘fabulous offer’ to stay at the club.
The former Rangers and Birmingham City striker has been in talks with the Yorkshire club to extend a contract which runs out at the end of the season.
And Aluko, who missed Saturday’s win over Sunderland with a calf injury, has said he is happy to stay at the club who have made a positive start to their second spell in the Barclays Premier League.
Bruce said: “With the contract the ball is in his court. We’ve made him in a good offer, a fabulous offer, and he’s entitled to weigh it up.
“With the Bosman situation, I’ve seen this before. The ball is still in his court.”
One major concern for Hull is the calf problem which flared up during the warm-up on Saturday.
David Meyler stepped in to replace Aluko after he pulled up less than an hour before kick-off.
Bruce admitted the injury, which comes after Aluko suffered an Achilles problem, is a worry for a player who has been one of the stars of Hull’s rise to the top ten.
