Ebonyi governor sacks personal aide, commissioner, for alleged misconduct

Governor Martin Elechi of Ebonyi has sacked, Paul Okorie, the commissioner for environment, for alleged acts inconsistent with his office mandate.
This is contained in a statement signed by Chike Onwe, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, on Thursday in Abakaliki.
The statement directed Mr. Okorie to handover all government documents and property at his disposal to the ministry’s permanent secretary.
“The removal takes effect from Wednesday, Aug.7, 2013, as he ceases to be a member of the State Executive Council,” the statement read.
It stated that the decision to remove Okorie, who was the Commissioner for Works and Transport in the state from 2007-2011, was reached during the council meeting on Wednesday.
The governor on July 13, 2013 also sacked, Dr Nora Aloh, his Personal Assistant on Primary Health.
Mr. Aloh was also removed for alleged acts inconsistent with the mandate of her office.
