Sunny Ade’s guitarist, Fatoke Abiodun, caught with Cocaine
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested an ex- guitarist with Nigerian music legend Sunny Ade with 1.575kg of cocaine at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
NDLEA Commander of the Lagos Airport, Hamza Umar confirmed that Mr Fatoke was arrested on New Year day while trying to board an Air France flight to Italy.
The drug was discovered in the false bottom of his luggage during the screening of passengers to Italy. He is the first trafficker to be arrested in 2013.
Fatoke a grand father said he played for King Sunny Ade for 30 years before he was unceremoniously retired in 2007, with nothing to fall back on, and with four wives, and many children, the grandfather turned to peddling drugs. He claimed that this trip was his first attempt.
