Reports reaching Urhobo Times have revealed that construction work on the Asaba multi-million naira drainage project, which was awarded by Delta Government in 2010, has been put on hold.
According to the report, the contract has been put on hold since November, 2012. Though not certain on the rationale for the halting of the projects, a source within with the contractor in charge of the project, Modis Ltd stated that it was due to factors connected to unavailability of funds.
All attempts to reach the State Commissioner for Works, Mr. Solomon Funkekeme on the matter, proved abortive as calls and messages sent to his phone was either un-replied or unanswered.
