Al-Makura Not Planning Cabinet Reshuffle – Aide
Nasarawa State Governor Umar Tanko Al-Makura has no plan for any cabinet reshuffle as being speculated in some quarters, his senior special assistant on media and press affairs, Alhaji Sani Musa Mairiga, has said.
Alhaji Mairiga, who revealed this while answering questions from newsmen in his office yesterday, said “as far as I am concerned, I don’t know of any plan by my boss to carry out a cabinet reshuffle for now. Although he is entitled to reshuffle his cabinet whenever he wishes, subject to the approval of the state House of Assembly, there is nothing like cabinet reshuffle by Al-Makura’s administration for now.”
Alhaji Mairiga said all the commissioners in the state were focused and up and doing in their assigned portfolios, adding that this, however, did not mean that the governor could not reshuffle his cabinet whenever he wished.
The media aide said the governor and all the commissioners were working round the clock to ensure that democratic dividends got to every nook and cranny of the state.
He, therefore, urged the media and the general public to disregard such report as it was a figment of the imagination of those who did not wish the administration well.
Mairiga also appealed to the opposition parties in the state to support the CPC government in the state and to avoid baseless criticisms capable of heating up the polity.
“Nasarawa is our state and there are no two ways about that; we are all working for the betterment of the people. I want to call on the opposition parties to support the administration of Umar Tanko Al-makura in its efforts to develop the state as baseless criticism will not take us to anywhere,” he said.
