Obanikoro signs up for Facebook

OCTOBER 30, 2013

Senator Musiliu Obanikoro
A former governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party and Nigerian Ambassador to Ghana, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, may have found comfort in the use of social media as a platform for re-strategising his political career.
Obanikoro, who is the incumbent chairman of the Industrial Training Fund, has begun growing a league of social media following as he shares his thoughts about the Nigerian polity on two popular social networking sites.
Although he joined tweeps on the micro-blogging service on November 4, 2011, the account soon got dormant a month after as he went inactive on the platform.
However, his Twitter account seems to have fallen into his good books since August 7, as he now tweets regularly. His Facebook page, which has some 9, 000 followers, was opened on July 9, 2013.
“I still use it (Twitter account). I am open to suggestions on this platform.  Feel free to connect directly with me here on Twitter or click the link to like my Facebook page,” he wrote on his Twitter page.
The former lawmaker representing Lagos Central Senatorial District in the Senate has also been empathising with Nigerian users on social media asking them to keep having an optimistic view about the future of the country.
“Fellow Nigerians, we must remain optimistic even in the face of what seems to be an endless struggle for a better Nigeria,” he wrote.
