Our members did not attack Opeyemi Bamidele —Ekiti ACN
Ekiti ACN, in a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday and signed by its public relations officer (PRO), Mr Tunde Adeleke, said “no ACN member attacked Opeyemi Bamidele as our investigation within the party has revealed that the fracas was caused by the group of rough necks that usually follow him everywhere he goes in the state.”
According to Ekiti ACN, “Mr Bamidele’s boys have also been going about Ekiti causing trouble and harassing other party members.
“We wish to reiterate again that the ACN has always toed the path of peace even before it reclaimed its lost mandate, and it has continued on that path.”
The statement by the ACN came in reaction to an allegation by Bamidele that he was attacked by members of the party who were not comfortable with his rising profile in the party.
The lawmaker, who said he was in Igede, headquarters of Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state, to negotiate for the rent of his situation office, had his Toyota Prado vehicle vandalised with many of his supporters injured in the incident.
