New Rivers PDP Exco Inaugurated.
The new state working committee of the Rivers State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party has been inaugurated by the Bamangar Tukur- led National working committee .
Members of the Felix Obuah -led executive committee took their oath of office at about 4pm in the presence of members of the national working committee . Besides the National chairman Bamagar Tukur others who witnessed the inauguration included the ./mdeputy national chairman Dr. Sam Sam Jaja, woman leader Kema Chikwe, Publicity secretary Olisah Metuh among others.
Addressing a huge crowd before the ceremony Olisah Metuh said the PDP had earlier received a copy of judgement delivered by an Abuja High declaring the Felix Obuah – led committee as the authentic working committee of the Rivers State chapter of the PDP and ordered that they be inaugurated immediately.
Reporters365 recalls that an Abuja High Court yesterday sacked the chief Godspower Ake – led executive committee of the Rivers State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party [PDP].
In a case brought by Chief Felix Obuah and Prince Ibibia Walter against the PDP National executive committee, INEC and PDP Rivers State Convention Committee with Chief Godspower Ake and Adokiye Oruwari as defendants, an Abuja High Court presided over by Justice Bello ruled that the Chief Felix Obuah- led executive be immediately inaugurated as the duly elected executive of the Rivers State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party [ PDP].
Justice Bello said failure to inaugurate the chief Obual-led exco will be viewed as contempt of court.
The plaintiffs had earlier claimed that members of the Chief Ake -led committee neither bought forms nor contested elections into the working committee.
