I’m Not Part Of Lamido/Amaechi Campaign Posters In Niger – Gov Aliyu

Niger State Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu has dissociated himself from the re-emergence of the presidential campaign posters of Governor of Jigawa State Sule Lamido and Governor of Rivers State Chibuike Amaechi in Minna, the state capital.
In a statement, yesterday, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor , Danladi Ndayebo, said  that neither the State Governor nor the administration had anything to do with the posters of the governors which flooded parts of Minna at the weekend.
The statement also said that Governor Aliyu has distanced himself from the campaign posters and would have nothing to do with them.
The posters have Governor Sule Lamido as presidential candidate and Governor Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi as his running mate and were placed in strategic public buildings in the state capital.
Governor Aliyu, according to the statement, said that no government organ or himself was serving as campaign agents for the two serving governors.
He, however, described the surfacing of the posters in the state as the handiwork of political jobbers and therefore advised the members of the public not to link the posters to it or any government official.
‘‘Those who posted the posters are neither agents of the state government nor that of the governor; they also do not have the sympathy of government or any of its officials,’’
The statement therefore posited that the Niger state government would continue to respect the decision of the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which has placed a ban on all forms of campaigns ahead of the 2015 general elections.
