…Uche apologises to Nigerians

Super Eagles striker Ikechukwu Uche has apologised to Nigerians and the fans of the team for their performance against Burkina Faso in their Africa Nations Cup game played on Monday.
The Spain-based player who had used a social network – Twitter, to announce that the Eagles were ready for the competition also used the same medium to relay his apology and with a promise for a better outing against Zambia.
He tweeted, “I sincerely apologise for how the game ended last night and I strongly believe that our next game will be better… Thanks.”
Nigeria played 1-1 against Burkina Faso in the match that was their first in the 2013 African cup. The Eagles squandered the lead they gained in the 22nd minute through Emmanuel Emenike’s goal four minutes into added time. Their poor judgement in the last minutes of the match generated negative comments against the team.
Nigeria will play against Zambia on Friday as the battle to qualify for the next stage continues.
