Security Challenges Under Control - Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday in Abuja told Nigerians and the international community that security challenges facing the country were under control and would soon become issues of the past.
The president, who was represented by the minister of state for defence, Mrs. Olusola Obada, gave this assurance at the decoration of 55 senior military officers drawn from the Army, Navy and Air Force  with the rank of two-star generals.
Jonathan said, “Let me assure all Nigerians and the international community, particularly our foreign investors that our security challenges are under control. And with our found determination and continued support and partnership, terrorism and other security challenges will soon become issues of the past’’.
According to him, inter-agency cooperation was essential in dealing with the nation’s security challenges. He added that the presence of other security chiefs at the event symbolised the importance of cooperation and synergy in meeting our national security needs.
The president called on the Nigerian armed forces to foster stronger ties and collaboration with other security agencies towards improving and sustaining national peace and security. He then reminded the newly-promoted officers of the expectation of the military authorities from them.
