I Won’t Give Room To Detractors - Shema
Governor Ibrahim Shehu Shema of Katsina State yesterday declared that no amount of insults on his administration would deter it from doing what would enhance development in the state.
At the launch of three mobile ambulances scheme for Almajirai in the state, Shema assured the people that his administration would focus on doing all that is laudable under the guidance of God.
Shema, who recalled that his administration had come under constant attacks by some people who did not mean well for the state, said: “They insult us because we built ring roads. They insult us because we provided drugs in the hospitals. We will sustain all that we have been doing for the good of the state and its people.”
The governor pledged that his administration would do more to provide a conducive environment for the Almajirai, adding: “We recently launched the Allo (Slate) Model School, where these children receive free feeding, clothing and skills acquisition training.”
He said the Almajirai ambulance scheme was on a pilot basis, and assured the beneficiaries that adequate measures had been taken to ensure maintenance of the buses, just as he challenged the personnel saddled with the responsibility of manning them to ensure proper use.
Shema said all the needed equipment for the state-owned orthopaedic hospital under construction had been bought, and hinted that the hospital would be commissioned soon. He said medical personnel from England, South Africa, Egypt and India had indicated interest to partner the state in running the hospital.
