Delta Monarchs At War Over 15% Allocation

Traditional rulers in Ika North/East Local government Areas of Delta State are currently battling the Obi of Owa Kingdom, HRH Emmanuel Efeizomor, over alleged 15% allocation provided to the traditional rulers by the state government.
Our Reporter checks revealed that Obi Efeizomor  was allowed to collect 10% from the 15% as the most influential royal father in the area; but the act had since not gone down well with others who are reportedly said to be kicking against it, saying that everybody should be treated equally.
Expectedly, trouble began when Efeizomor held a meeting with the traditional rulers in the area informing them of his intention to document it and having them append their signatures.
But the Obis of Igbodo, Umunede and others refused and ignored the offer; stressing that such would be dangerous in future.
Our Reporter reliably gathered that consequent upon their refusal, the situation has allegedly generated bad blood and ‘war of words’.
Although Efeizomor has dispelled as untrue, insiders said the refusal of others have been generating ripples that might lead to outburst if urgent steps are not taken by the state government to settle the ‘dust’.
In his reaction, the  state Commissioner for Information, Mr. Chike Ogeah, said the issue was being looked into with a view to ensuring it was settled amicably.
Sources said in a bid to further actualise what others termed ‘evil intention’, Efeizomor had reportedly contacted the State Deputy Governor, Prof. Amos Utuama (SAN) to use his good office to endorse the document; a situation, it was learnt, has placed him ‘dragging his foot’ not to step on anybody’s toes after he was allegedly advised to steer clear of the matter by the aggrieved royal fathers
