The Kardashian household is gearing up for pregnant Kim Kardashian's baby shower, and if older sister Kourtney Kardashian's celebration is anything to go by, we can expect a full-blown extravaganza at this Sunday’s event.
No doubt the excitement will centre on the sex of the baby, which Kim will reveal at the shower in front of her close friends and family. But fans of the glamorous reality TV star will find out at the same time, as her baby shower coincides with the first episode of the new season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
The lucky invitées, including superstars Beyoncé and Fergie, received a musical box with a twirling ballerina that strikingly resembled Kim, and played boyfriend and father to her first child Kanye West'sHey Mama track. The eldest of the Kardashian clan celebrated both her son Mason and daughter Penelope’s baby showers in the family home, and at Penelope’s she received "lots of adorable baby girl clothes" and other newborn paraphernalia, including embroidered bibs and teething toys.
"I gave her a Prada diaper bag and the cutest Gucci romper," said Kim.
Although Kim and Kanye are reported to have requested their guests make donations to charity instead of buying presents for their baby, like singer Shakira did last year, it's likely close friends and family will not be able to resist splashing out on the couple's first child.
The Marie Chantal baby come home set would be perfect for the couple's baby who, with fashion-conscious parents, will most likely be kitted out in the latest designer wear. The set includes an adorable cross-designed onesie, a layette jacket and a set of little booties.
Kim clearly looks up to big sister Kourtney and in a touching blog post said, "She is super woman with her ability to effortlessly balance work with taking care of two amazing kids. I am so lucky to have her as my guide and confidant as I too become a mother."
