2015 Campaign: Jonathan’s men defy Jega’s order, flooded Ondo with posters

GEJ postersDespite recent order given by Prof. Attahiru jega, the Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, cautioning against unapproved and untimely 2015 campaigns, the 2015 colourfully printed campaign poster of the President has flooded major roads in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
The poster which captured Jonathan wearing different caps from the three main ethnic groups in the country (Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba) has the caption, ‘Jonathan – Continuity is ok, Tomorrow will be far better and it is now or never’.
Those behind the pasting of the poster are not known, as the job was reportedly done in the night.
At the Road Block area of the Akure metropolis where the poster took over major walls, road demarcation, fencing and streetlight poles, residence said they woke up over the weekend to see the posters all over the place.
A cab operator at the Road Block junction, who simply identified himself as Sanmi, told our correspondent that he closed work at 11.00 p.m. on Thursday without seeing any poster only to resume on Friday morning to behold the colourful poster at every available space in the area.
The cab driver frowned at the way those behind the poster went about the job, stressing that even abandoned vehicles at the park were not spared.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had earlier warned political parties and individuals with interest in the 2015 general elections to follow the rules of the game by stopping further campaigns on 2015 until the stipulated time allowed for such action in the Electoral Act.
