Rivers officials said security details of two top officials have been withdrawn.
The Rivers Police Command said on Friday that it did not withdraw the security details of some top government officials in the state.
However, Tony Okocha, Chief of Staff, Government House, Port Harcourt, has alleged that security details attached to his house and that of the SSG had been withdrawn.
Mr. Okocha made the allegation while addressing journalists in Port Harcourt on Friday
Ahmad Muhammad, a Deputy Superintendent of Police and the command’s Spokesman, when contacted, said that the command did not take such action.
‘’ It is not true. We (police) did not withdraw their security details and I cannot say more than this,’’ Mr. Muhammad said.
Mr. Okocha had alleged that “security details under the Special Protection Unit attached to my house and that of the Secretary to the state government have been withdrawn.
“As I speak, no reason was given for the action and we are now left with only one police orderly each.
“Nobody has contacted the state government to give reasons for the action and we were not given prior notice,’’ he said.
Mr. Okocha said the action of the police portended danger for some senior government officials as they did not have security details to guide them.
