The project will cost N2.4 billion.
The Minister of Transport, Idris Umar, said on Wednesday that the Executive Council of the Federation, FEC, approved the establishment of Command Control Communication and Intelligence Centre for Sea Ports under the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
He said the project was approved at the cost of N2.397 billion with a completion period of 14 months; adding that the project would help in providing a secure environment for port operations within Nigerian territorial waters and in curtailing threat of terrorist activity in the ports.
Mr. Umar said the project will also create a total of 145 job opportunities including 33 professionals and 77 non- professionals during its execution and 35 more job opportunities as the project progressed.
