PDP Will Resolve Taraba Crisis – Tukur

The leadership of the Peoples’ Democratic Party has said it is taking steps to resolve the political crisis in Taraba state adding that it is still monitoring the developments.
The national chairman of the party, Bamanga Tukur, said the party is determined to follow the rule of law and ensure that all members see that the party is practicing what it preaches.
The return of the governor Danbaba Suntai, a week ago, ten months after he sustained severe injuries in a plane crash has caused an upsurge of controversies and events in the state.
It is uncertain to say who is at the helm of affairs in the state now, as intense politicking has replaced governance while the state executive and legislature are divided over the way forward in the state.
However, federal lawmakers say they are in support of the deputy governor to continue in acting capacity as members of the Taraba state House of Assembly have asked the Governor to return to the United States to continue treatment .
Meanwhile, spokesman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria, Senator Umar Tutare said the resolution of the Taraba state House of Assembly that governor Danbaba Suntai is still unfit to rule has been endorsed by the group.
