Group Appeals To Federal Government On Warri Crisis

The Association of Registered Political Party (ARPP) in collaboration with Inter-Party Advisory Board (IPAC) has called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to intervene in the recent unprovoked attack that rocked some Itsekiri communities in Koko, Warri North local government area of Delta state.
Speaking at a press briefing in Asaba , the Chairman of the group, Mr Christian Moses Abeh expressed displeasure at the way the crisis is being handled as the communities are yet to feel the impact of the Federal Government.
Some Hoodlums launched an unprovoked attack burning houses, killing and destroying properties of indigenes of Obahoro,Gbokoda,Ebohimi and other affected  communities in Koko on July 2nd, a day which will remain fresh in the memories of the people.
The Delta state government has since ensured that the affected persons are taken care of by providing relief materials and ensuring that the destroyed houses are rebuilt, meanwhile in order to avoid a reoccurrence of such incident, security agencies are strategically on guard.
Affected Itsekiri communities during an interview session expressed their displeasure at the present situation, saying it’s been over two months since the incident occurred and nothing has come forth from the federal government in form relief materials, as it concerns communities that are the major source of the nation’s resources. They however hope that this call will prompt the federal government to do more for their communities.
