Why Wike wants Amaechi’s fall at all cost

Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, and Minister of State for Education, Mr. Nyesom Wike
In the recent interview granted TheNews magazine by Prof. Tam David West, the renown social critic and former minister of Petroleum made it clear the Wike’s do or die governorship ambition behind his incessant attack on his former boss, Governor Rotimi Amamechi
Commenting on the rift between Ameachi and his former aide, Nyeson Wike, David-West, who spoke in an interview with TheNEWS said, “One of his greatest enemies, Nyesom Wike, Minister of State for Education, was his chief of staff and they were very close until few months ago when he went to Abuja. This same chief of staff used to congratulate me whenever he reads my article about Amaechi. What is the reason for their disagreement?
“Their first disagreement was that the chief of staff wants to be Governor after Amaechi and Amaechi said that will not be right because they are from the same ethnic group, Ikwerre. He said the state can’t have Ikwerre Governor for eight years and be succeeded by an Ikwerre person. He feels that is unfair to other ethnic groups in the state.
“So, he is insisting that the governorship has to go to the riverine people. But Amaechi has been vindicated because Wike declared two weeks ago that he wants to be a Governor. Amaechi’s opposition forced Wike into opting to go to the Senate. But Amaechi said that his next ambition is to become a Senator. Wike is finding it difficult to deal with being stopped first from becoming Governor, and then Senator. The last time I visited Amaechi, I told him that if he is doing well, I will say it and if not, I will say it. I can do that because I don’t want anything from him. Amaechi is suffering injustice.
The former Minister described as a lie, the speculation that Ameachi’s ordeal resulted from his ambition to become the nation’s vice-president.
When asked if the misunderstanding between Amaechi and Wike was of interest to President Goodluck Jonathan, he retorted that “Patience, the President’s wife, hates Amaechi.”
