The Army warned Nigerians to be wary of the fraudsters.
The Directorate of Army Public Relations on Monday urged members of the public to be wary of messages by fraudsters soliciting financial assistance.
This is contained in a statement issued by Col. John Agim, Chief of Staff in the directorate in Abuja on Monday.
“It has come to the notice of the directorate that some fraudsters are using our official e-mail address to circulate messages seeking financial assistance from the general public.
“The directorate wishes to dissociate itself from such embarrassing messages’’, it said.
The statement appealed to members of the public, particularly the media, to clarify such information from the headquarters when in doubt.
