Kogi releases N400m for reconstruction of flood-damaged roads
The Kogi Government has released N400 million for the reconstruction of four roads damaged during the 2012 flood disaster.
This is contained in a statement issued in Lokoja on Friday by the state's Director of Information, James Adedoyin. The statement listed the roads as the Shintaku-Odogbo road in Bassa Local Government and Idah-Onyedega road, linking Idah to Ibaji Local Government.
Others are the Kpata Market road and Ganaja Junction to Ganaja Village road, all in Lokoja. The statement said that contracts for the jobs had already been awarded, saying that contractors had been directed to immediately move to site.
It stated that government had also awarded contract for the construction of a workshop for power tiller at a cost of N133 million, saying that the facility was critical to the attainment of the agriculture transformation agenda of the present administration.
The statement said that government also released N64 million for the renovation of the presidential lodge and for additional work on the Civil Service Commission office, under construction in Lokoja.
