Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, on Tuesday swore in two new commissioners, charging them to shun corruption and political pressures.
The two commissioners are Mrs. Nike Ademujimi and Ogundeji Iroju, representing Okitipupa and Odigbo council areas of the state, respectively. Ademujimi was appointed the state Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, while Iroju is the Commissioner for Employment and Productivity.
In his remarks, Mimiko said, “My administration has zero tolerance for corruption and and you should avoid undue pressures from politicians.”
He urged them to abide by the principles of transparency and accountability, which he described as the hallmarks of his administration.
The governor also urged the new commissioners to ensure that the resources of the state were not wasted, while at the same time ensuring continous generation of revenue by their respective ministries.
Responding separately, the two commissioners, who thanked Mimiko for counting them worthy of the positions, promised their unflinching support to move the state to an enviable status.
