New Army division to be adequately enhanced – Ihejirika

Mr. Ihejirika said this in a statement by the Defense spokesman.
The Chief of Army Staff, Azubuike Ihejirika, on Friday in Maiduguri said that the newly created Army 7 division will be adequately enhanced to accomplish the task which it was set up for.
In a statement signed by the Defence Directorate of Information, Chris Olukolade, Mr. Ihejirika said that no efforts would be spared in ensuring the formation has enhanced adequate fire power backed by adequate logistics to help deal with terrorism in the North East and establish an enduring security in its entire area of responsibility.
Mr. Ihejirika also said he would ensure that all the units of the division will possess necessary integrity and cohesion from the onset.
He also commended the General Officer Commanding and all the officers and men for the professional way they have managed the transition in the operation from the Joint Task Force by maintaining the required tempo.
He urged the formation to maintain its aggressive patrols in order to deny the remaining insurgents any respite or opportunity to regroup or operate.
He also said their commitment to the country’s security was commendable and appreciated and that President Goodluck Jonathan was highly interested in the welfare of the troops and the success of the operations.
He noted that the entire leadership of the armed forces was equally very keen to render the formation all the necessary support.
He commended all the Air Force pilots involved in the operations for their outstanding input in making the operation to achieve its objectives noting that the ideal spirit of oneness has been adequately demonstrated with their remarkable efforts in the operations so far.
He assured the troops that he requests they made towards enhancing the mission would be handled with dispatch.
