Crisis Hits Bayelsa New PDP As Sylva's Camp Pulls Out



Barely 24 hours after the emergence of the Kawu Baraje-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State, loyalists of the former governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva have pulled out of the group.While some of the political actors involved in the formation of the Baraje-led PDP in Bayelsa insisted that they were set to announce the membership of the state working committee and unveil its office in the state capital.Others, including the deputy president of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Comrade Preye Agama, have dissociated themselves from the formation of the faction of the party and declared loyalty to the PDP and the second term aspiration of President Goodluck Jonathan.LEADERSHIP gathered that out of the 10 persons listed as pioneers members of the Kawu Baraje faction, four have pulled out and declared loyalty to the PDP and President Goodluck Jonathan.The deputy National President of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Comrade Preye Agama in a statement issued in Yenagoa dissociated himself from a newly formed group known as New Bayelsa New PDP, saying his commitment to the second term aspiration of the President Goodluck Jonathan was unshakeable.
