Amaechi/Wike Face-off: Kinsmen Seek Divine Intervention

Disturbed by the persisting face-off between Rivers State Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and his erstwhile chief of staff and presently minister of state for Education, Chief Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike, religious leaders from the Ikwerre ethnic nationality have resorted to prayers for God’s intervention in the feud.

Recently, the religious leaders, under the aegis of Ikwerre Gospel Ministers' Fellowship (IGMF) organised a one-day prayer rally in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, where they cried out to God to intervene in the lingering political crisis in the state as well as bring peace in Ikwerre-land, Rivers State, and Nigeria in general.

Speaking to LEADERSHIP SUNDAY after the prayer rally, President of IGMF, Apostle Emmanuel Chijioke Yellowe, said they decided to embark on prayers after noticing that there was a friction between Amaechi and Wike.
“We have made several moves to reach both Amaechi and Wike without success. One of the main reasons why we are here today is because of the face-off between them,” he added.
