Police Nab Suspect In Possession Of Late Damoche's Phone Set

The police in Lagos in continuation of their investigation into the gruesome murder last week Thursday of the final year Banking and Finance undergraduate of the Lagos State University (LASU), Damilola Olaniyan (aka Domache) jave arrested a suspect in whose possession had recovered the mobile phone set of the slain hip-hop musician.
The suspect, it was gathered, was arrested on Wednesday by detectives from the state command who stormed the school's Ojo campus in search of him, following a tip-off..
His arrest, it was said, was made possible following the confessions of the 34 suspects who are currently undergoing interrogation in the custody of the detectives attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Ikeja.
Lagos State Police Command Spokesperson, Ngozi Braide, a Deputy Superintendent (DSP) confirmed the arrest.
She said the suspect has been handed over to the homicide detectives attached to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti Street, Yaba, Lagos, for further probe.
It was gathered that when policemen arrived at the campus of the state institution, some students tried to resist his arrest but, were later overpowered by the police team.
As a result, it was said, there was a mild drama which almost culminated in a face-off between the suspect's colleagues and those in favour of his arrest.
However Braide dismissed the report saying the atmosphere was charge but there was no clash and that nobody was killed or injured. It would be recalled that Damoche was shot dead at about 4:00p.m last week Thursday at the main gate of the university's main campus. .
The death of the upcoming singer led to the arrest of about 70 suspects on Sunday evening by the police.
But the police said that the suspects had been screened and that 34 of them had case to answer.
