PDP Not Serving Interest Of Nigerians – Ambassador Osuntokun

The former Nigerian Ambassador to Germany,Prof Akinjide Osuntokun has described the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) government as a self-seeking party.
He disclosed this at the Caleb University second convocation lecture titled, “Electoral Democracy and Political Realignment in Nigeria” at the school premises in Lagos.
Prof Osuntokun who is also the former representative of the National Universities Commission, NUC, in North America said, “This is a party whose credo as exposed by one of their former leaders was that service in government was a call to ‘come and eat’ rather than to service.
“PDP appears to me tired and totally bereft of what to do to advance the interest of our country”, he said.
He lamented that PDP has failed the people, especially in the area of power, security and healthcare amongst others.
“When PDP came to power in 1999, we were told that within six months, there would be regular supply of electricity. There were other promises made but none was met. Our infrastructures generally have remained backward and almost non-existent.
