Don’t allow detractors use you - Hon. Ebira
Youths in Delta state have been urged not to allow themselves to be used as ready tools for violence and confusion by self seeking individuals and mischief makers in the society.
The commissioner for the Directorates of Youth Development, Hon. Ebira Ijomah made this call while addressing representatives of Ukwuani community youth leaders and save Ndokwa National Group at his office in Asaba the capital of Delta State.
He disclosed that the advice had become necessary as it would go a long way in promoting peaceful environment for socio-economic activities to thrive, adding that peace and unity were very critical factors for any community to develop.
 According to him, youths must be good followers so as to be able to become good leaders, adding that they should be honest and constructive in addressing any critical issue.
As youths, he said, we must be patriotic and contribute to the societal development, pointing out that they should obey constituted authority and engage themselves in meaningful ventures.
While saying that the Uduaghan led administration in the state has set the ball rolling for younger generation to emulate good governance, Ijomah disclosed that the key for youths to be successful in life is in their hands, “ We want you to key into the developmental initiative of Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan. Youths in the state must learn to live and work together, you must be united and speak with one voice.” Ijomah said.
In their separate remarks during the meeting, the youth president of Obiaruku community, comrade Chika Uwabuofu and the president of Save Ndokwa Group, Marcus Enudi commended the commissioner by intervening in the crisis in the area which they attributed to an attempt enthrone another youth leader in the area and an alleged undue interference in the affairs of youths in the community by some elders in the area.
They both assured the commissioner of their loyalty to respect law and order in their various communities and stressed the need for elders to be told not to always interface in youth maters to avoid conflicts.
