A top official of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State, Alhaji Sani Boza, on Monday cautioned the party’s members against bickering over positions.
``All members of the party are equal and all of us should only occupy ourselves with building a stronger, united and formidable APC," he told newsmen in Sokoto.
Boza, an official of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples’ Party (ANPP) in the state, was reacting to the recent claims of ownership of the party by some members in the state .
``All members are equal, and nobody can claim to have owned the party in any state or at the national level.
``Members of the defunct CPC, DPP, APGA, ANPP and ACN are equal stakeholders in APC," he said.
Boza urged APC members to concentrate on how to develop the party to the level it can help to salvage the nation, instead of bickering over positions.
``Internal wrangling in the state's chapter of the party will stunt its development,'' he said.
The party official reiterated his commitment and loyalty to the APC national leadership and Gov. Aliyu Wamakko, who is the party’s leader in the state.
``We are in this struggle to salvage Nigeria, and we should do it with absolute caution and spirit of patriotism," he said.
