Peace has been restored in Okere-Urhobo kingdom, says Leader

The people of Okere-Urhobo kingdom, Warri led by elders and leaders have unanimously embraced peace, unity and love, so that the kingdom can move forward as required by the people.
The leaders, who are rallying points of the people in a recent press briefing, noted that bitterness has been eschewed by sinking differences militating against the progress of the kingdom.
The briefing was presided over by the oldest Chief in the kingdom, Chief George Amurun, The Adjerese of Okere Urhobo kingdom, Warri.
Pa George Amurun who spoke on behalf of others, noted that the purpose of the briefing was to let the world know that the people of Okere-Urhobo kingdom, Warri had proffered peace, unity and love within themselves in the kingdom.
He posited that though there was no heated crisis resulting to violence among the people over the years, but that in any given society, the possibility of minor differences cannot be overemphasized or overruled.
Amurun pointed out that the major problem faced by the people after the glorious exit of the immediate past Orosuen, HRM Benjamin Okumagba was that of management committee and the Board of Trustee of the Olodi, Oki and Ighogbadu kindred family properties.
“There was some wrangling here and there, but today all that have been put in place. So there is peace, unity and love among the people as we speaking” He added.
Speaking further, the Adjerese stated that remarkable development is being achieved by the people, since the house was put in order with the BOT carrying everybody along to avoid grudges.
“Now that the management committee and the BOT are being put in place, our next priority and agenda is that of the kingships because, in Okere Urhobo kingdom, we have five formidable families which are Olodi, Ighoghadu, Oki, Macro and Tifo.
“We are all brothers and the same blood, just as we are trying as much as possible to carry everyone along.” He stated.
Pa Amurun appealed to the entire people of the kingdom to sustain the already achieved peace, unity and love.
On his part, Apostle Isaac I.A.Eraivon, Head of Olodi, Oki and Ighogbadu families also appealed to the people of the kingdom to respect the peace accorded, saying that violence breeds crime.
“Crime is not good for any community. Therefore, the elders should continue to be patient, while the youths should continue to understand by waiting for their elders as it has been divinely and traditionally set-up since the beginning of creation.
“So, I thank God today that we are where we are and by the grace of God, tranquility, peace and harmony have been achieved in the kingdom.” He prayed.
Pa Daniel Karien Eboh, the Head of Olodi family in his comments, expressed happiness that the people of Okere-Urhobo had forgotten the past and have embraced peace for the community to move forward.
“Violence should not be our portion but to live together in peace without any problem because without problem, we can achieve greatness in the kingdom.
“I do know that God will continue to move forward. I am happy that Okere-Urhobo kingdom has embraced peace so that our desired development can be achieved.” He stated.
Also present at the press briefing are; Chief Wilson Eboh, The Otota (Traditional Prime Minister) of Okere-Urhobo kingdom, Warri and Chief Emmanuel Okumagba, The Agwhotu of Okere-Urhobo kingdom, Warri who is also the President-General of the kingdom amongst others.
