Group acknowledge the receipt of CJN’s Petition to Justice Gummi

Aloma-MuktharThe Group, Civil Society Network Against Corruption has commended the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Aloma Mukhtar on her reform agenda in the Judiciary. In a letter dated 10th June 2013 and signed by the Chairman, the group acknowledged receipt of a copy of the query issued to Justice Gummi, over revelations in the book of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai “the Accidental Public Servant” on grant allocations and behind the Courts meeting between the FCT administration and the FCT Judiciary, during El-Rufai administrations as FCT Minister.
According to the letter, the Chairman stated the group’s appreciation of the CJN’s “promptitude in your responses to this and other matters bothering on the integrity of the Judiciary, under your able leadership. Your actions, utterances and commitment towards the repositioning of the Nigerian Judicial system will no doubt succeed, if sustained and consistent. To this effect, we pledge our unalloyed support in this journey of a lifetime, in the history of our country”.
According to the Chairman, “While we continue to look forward to the outcomes of this very important investigation, we shall continue in our monitoring of our officers in the “Temple of Justice” for appropriate review and action by your Council”. Photocopy of the relevant page in the book was
