Police in manhunt for inspector’s killers

NIGER State Police Command has begun a manhunt  for the suspected armed robbers who killed an Inspector of  Police,  Chris Uba, during a gun duel at his duty post alongside his junior colleagues  over the weekend  at Bakin Gada area of Mashegu Local Government of the state.
The Punch gathered that the suspected armed robbers, who have been terrorising the area for some time, had ambushed  three policemen on duty in the area, resulting in the death of one  policeman, while two others  escaped with gunshot injuries.
The state Police Command Public Relations Officer, Mr. Richard Adamu, when contacted  on Monday, confirmed the incident, saying one policeman was killed when the  armed robbers struck while two policemen also sustained injuries
Oguche added that the command had intensified efforts  to bring the culprits to book, saying the Inspector of Police  was killed in an attack  by the two other policemen,  who sustained injuries, were rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
