20 Killed As Gunmen Attack two Villages In Kaduna
Twenty persons have been killed in renewed attacks carried out by unknown gunmen in two seperate villages of attakar Chiefdom in Kaura local government area of Kaduna State.
The attackers our reporter learnt killed about 20 villagers mostly women and children and left over 10 persons seriously injured.
The Kaura local government area is located in the Southern part of Kaduna State and is measured to be about 220 kilometre away from Kaduna metropolis.
The local government chairman, Mr. Kumai Badu who confirmed the attacks said the affected villages include Mafang and Zilang.
The council chairman said the attackers burnt down virtually all the Houses and food items of the two villages.
He said that over 200 victims of the attacks were taking refuge at Mifi and the Chiefdom's headquarters in Fadan Attakar, adding that relief materials were being provided to them to cushion the effect.
A victim of the attack and village head of Mafang, Mr. Yusuf Bilong who is also taking refuge at Fadan Attakar ,our reporter that the attack was launched on them between Saturday and Sunday.
He said, the assailants shot randomly at anybody sighted, and that the casualties are mostly women and children.
Soldiers and Policemen have been drafted to the area and the entire Southern Kaduna to ensure normalcy.
